Finish Line

The time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 2:6-7

Sitting on the tarmac is no fun. Hours spent waiting ultimately culminate in that magical moment of stepping foot upon the floor of the sky bus only to find you have to sit and wait still longer. The time of departure has come and here you find yourself waiting to leave.

That’s how some people treat life. As if every passing day is simply time adding up to the inevitable day of demise. Like we’re just waiting around for the unavoidable last flight to the city in the sky.

Do not believe it! Life is for living. For being. For doing. Life is a precious gift for precious people. No runner sits around waiting for the finish line to come to her. Let us run our lives, and in faith finish the race completely worn out!

Jesus, teach me to run; to live. Amen.
