Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1 Corinthians 13:7
How we could use regular reminding of this truth. Our first reaction to troublesome trials is all too often frustration. The longer the situation, the more we lose hope. When someone is exceptionally nasty, the last thing on our mind is love.
True Love, however, bore the sins of people who hated Him. True Love believes in His Father’s plan. True Love hopes for your emancipation from sin’s stranglehold. True Love endured the unjustifiable accusations against His very nature; castigation beyond the “norm”; condescension foul in its ferocity; shame beyond comprehension; pain without measure; death.
True Love bears you. True Love believes in you. True Love hopes for you. True Love endured the worst of the world for you. True Love gives you His love. So love. With Jesus, bear your burdens; believe Him; hope in a beautiful future; endure the demands of the day.
Jesus, teach me to bear, believe, hope, endure. Amen.
