Sure Footing

The Lord drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. Psalm 40:2

Somehow someone convinced us we can have it all. There’s nothing you can’t procure given the right amount of effort. Never stopping to think about the impossibility of this claim, many plunge into a miry bog of striving for what always remains just beyond reach. Swimming deeper into the pit, most find themselves drowning. Debt, divorce, and destroyed lives are all they have to show for their effort to “have it all”.

There is One who draws people out of the pit of destruction and places their feet on a rock, securing their steps. Jesus Himself reaches into the disgusting mess and grabs hold of you. Centering your attention on Christ, financial problems can be tackled. Living in Jesus’ forgiveness, relationships can be restored. Securely walking with Jesus, life is breathed back into destroyed lives.

Jesus, set me on the Rock. Amen.
