At one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light. Ephesians 5:8
The dark of night provides good cover for much evil. The old saying “nothing good happens after midnight” all too often rings true. Cloaked in shadows we have a way of convincing ourselves our bad isn’t that bad. We act as if our deeds done in darkness will stay hidden in the dimness; what happens at night stays at night. But you know better than that. You’ve lived out the evidence that, although our brilliant late-night minds think it will be okay, it never works out that way.
Come into the light. Allow it to reveal the truth about acts shaded by darkness. Bring your deeds into the light and watch Jesus melt them away in His holy forgiveness and love. Walk in this light. Avoid what is shady and underhanded. You’ll thank yourself for it. Be strong in the light of Jesus.
Jesus, shine brightly on me. Amen.
