Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:3-4
Children are dependent. They must rely on other people to care for them. Children cannot step out into the real world and make it on their own. They are humble and reliant.
Trouble comes at us full force every time we believe ourselves more than dependent. Nowhere near as self-sufficient as we’d like to convince ourselves, we rely upon the graciously merciful hand our God and Creator. Thanks be to God, it is His good pleasure to provide us with all that we need for our body and life. If we were to truly take stock in all we have been given, we’d soon realize He gives much more than we ever asked. Topping the list of Fatherly goodness is the sacrifice of His Son to make you His own.
Father, thank you. Amen.
