Death, where is your victory? Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:55, 57
There was a time when Death had a place of infamous prominence in this world. People feared him. Beyond fear, really; people dreaded Death. Hopeless darkness followed him everywhere he went. Unwelcome as he was, he had a way of entering people’s homes and lives. He had a way of lingering. This is a thing of the past.
Death now wanders the wilderness of this world, lost. His darkness has been tinkered with to the point of losing its efficacy. Homeless. Like a wounded animal he may strike. Powerless. He has none of his former terror. Not since Christ broke him. Now where once was darkness shines the Light of the World. The radiance of Christ’s victory shimmers and sparkles on you, whether this side of death or the other. Death has no victory. Not for those in Christ.
Jesus, thank you for victory over death. Amen.
