Christ our Passover Lamb has been sacrificed. 1 Corinthians 5:7
For thousands of years the tradition of remembering the Passover of God was observed. Remembering the haste required during their last night of captivity, the Israelites celebrated with unleavened bread. Remembering another lost his life on their behalf, they slaughtered and ate the lamb. The sacrifice. The one who died that others may live. The lamb of God. Year after year the nation would celebrate and the lamb of God would be killed. Sacrifices must die.
One day, a crazed camel fur coat wearing, locust eating prophet who resided near the Jordan River proclaimed a Man to be the Lamb of God. Years before His portentous coming into pretentious Jerusalem as the Sacrifice, the Lamb of God was found and proclaimed. The Lamb of God must die. The Final Lamb of God must be sacrificed. The Lamb of God gave His life for you.
Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world; have mercy on me. Amen.
