The Lord is my strength and shield; in Him my heart trusts, and I am helped. Psalm 28:7
I understand a non-Christian’s attempt to make the most of things. Accepting things the way they are. Doing the best they can to deal with it. I understand this sentiment in a non-Christian. I cannot, however, understand it in a Christian . . . even when it’s the attitude of this Christian.
We have more than a flickering hope in Jesus. We have promises from the mouth of the Lord of All. The Creator has made it His good pleasure to condescend to our lowly level and strengthen, shield, and help. Others have mere acceptance; Christians have an eternal hope that escorts between the painful and the frightening. Others dig deep within themselves in search of solutions; Christians look well outside themselves to a virgin birth, a crucifixion death, and an empty tomb. Trust Jesus. He will never be One to let you down.
Jesus, in you alone let me find strength.
