For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:10
Refreshing, to say the least, to find someone disinclined to whine about his troubles. How often we find just the opposite. Every injustice, every slight, no matter how petty, winds up a social media crusade to restore right.
What if we changed our approach? What if we endured patiently the problems that plague our days? What if instead of taking offense for the wrongs, we rejoice in the right? What if we even went so far as to recognize that our obstacles really aren’t insurmountable like we had thought?
Jesus is greater than all our distresses. He is so amazing that He goes to work in spite of them. Mighty works done through weaklings like me. Greatness displayed through broken sinners restored by the Lord. His power being made known!
Dear Jesus, help us trust in your strength in times of our weakness. Amen.
