Running to Jesus

“Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross”          (Hebrews 12:1b-2a)

Daily Lenten Reading: Heb. 12:1-3

You can’t run a race without a goal of some sort.  You have to know where you’re going, or who’s waiting for you to finish, or what prize awaits you.  Hebrews shows you that you’re running to be with Jesus. He’s waiting to carry you across the finish line and to give you the prize – life in His everlasting presence!  So keep your eyes up, looking down the road to Jesus, who endured and suffered even the cross for the joy of making you His forever.

Jesus, keep my sights set on You as I run the race of faith. Amen.
