Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when His glory is revealed.
(1 Peter 4:12, 13)
The tight grip of an infant hand wrapped around my little finger. The majesty and grandeur of the Rocky Mountains, snow-capped and visible for miles. Budding life returning to the forest in the Spring and vibrant color changes of Autumn. A broken man crying out for strength and receiving the hope of the Gospel. A congregation of Christians faithfully returning each week to receive a Word from their Lord. The elderly grip of a ninety-something woman taking the body and blood of her Lord to her lips.
The Lord reveals His glory every day. May He tune our eyes, ears, and hearts to always recognize the merciful work of His powerful hands around us.
Dear Jesus, show me every day Your glory. Amen.
