Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. (2 Corinthians 1:3,4)
It seems our passage is all about comfort. Comfort for the chosen. Comfort for you. We will all be afflicted sometimes. We will all face impossible circumstances sometimes.
May the comfort of the Lord be yours. Comfort from knowing how it all turns out. Comfort from knowing and trusting that Jesus wins. Comfort from the reality that because Jesus is the winner, you are also the winner. Comfort from knowing that all which troubles you will soon be a distant memory.
Be comforted. Comfort others. Help them in their hard times. Tell them of Jesus’ love!
Dear Jesus, comfort us with the truth of your Word and promises. May we also comfort others with the same. Amen.
