I have said these things to you that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)
Foolish boys believe glory comes to those who aspire to it. Thus a life lived posing as fearless and unshakable. The true heart beats uncertainly. Men rise to the occasion. When you aim for trouble, you’ll often hit the mark. A man knows care of his family and protection of those entrusted to him are hallmarks of manhood. Men know that peace is preferable to war, but when the need arises, to war he shall go.
Jesus rises to the occasion. He cuts past the clutter of our posing and uncertainty and invites us take heart. The world came after Him, did everything it possibly could to defeat Him, but He overcame it. A bloody battle to be sure and much was lost, but in the end, everything was gained!
Dear Jesus, un-trouble our hearts and give us courage. Amen.
