The Adverbs of Jesus’ Love

Beloved, let us love one another for love is from God and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7)

True love implies sacrifice. When you truly love, you yield your wants. Shed what you’ve come to know as love from the movies you’ve seen and the books you’ve read. Take hold of true love. Love that has sacrificed everything – every shred of dignity, even life itself – this love is given you. To the lost and lonely, to the found and fulfilled, Jesus loves like no one else.

Let us love. Not just friends and family. Not only those who are nice to us. Love like Jesus does. Indiscriminately and confidently. Jesus loves us limitlessly, so when you’re feeling a little low on love, simply return to the source! He fills you up repeatedly. Endlessly, tirelessly, immeasurably, everlastingly, perpetually, wholesomely, unmistakably, graciously, mercifully, patiently, perfectly (wow, that’s a lot of adverbs!). That’s His love for you!

Gracious Lord, love me and so teach me to love. Amen.
